Courses Assertiveness - Two Day Workshop
Overview

This course will benefit anyone who wants to work more deeply to take their assertiveness skills to the next level.
 
Do you sometimes find yourself agreeing when you don’t agree, saying yes when you mean no, feeling uncomfortable expressing your opinion and frustrated when dealing with aggressive and/or difficult people? Are you scared that if you are assertive, people won’t like you or think you’re aggressive? Do you want to be more confident and able to deal more effectively with your personal and professional life? If you answer yes to one or more of these questions, then this course is for you. Over the two days you will learn, through highly interactive and practical facilitation, how to be more assertive and confident in yourself and your abilities. Research shows that assertiveness training can enhance your self-esteem, reduce stress and improve performance, as well as making you happier, healthier and more successful.

  • Distinguishing assertiveness from passive, aggressive and manipulative behaviour
  • Raising awareness of the personal, professional and financial consequences of each type of behaviour
  • Defining and enforcing your own personal and workplace rights; and learning how to assert them effectively
  • Asserting yourself by increasing your presence, influence, confidence and charisma
  • Learning about the effects of a positive No.
  • Getting to Yes, with an assertive No. Assertiveness in negotiation.
  • Building awareness of how you currently manage conflict and how to expand and develop your conflict-handling repertoire
  • Developing a variety of assertiveness skills, tools and techniques and know when to apply them, including communication skills, saying no and handling difficult people
  • Delivering constructive feedback in an assertive manner
  • Setting out a Personal Development Plan through relating assertive solutions to real-life situations by applying the key learning points
