What is Cambridge ICFE?
Developed in partnership with the ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), ICFE is an exam that has been developed to test English language proficiency within a range of realistic financial contexts that one may encounter during their daily working life.

Who is the exam for?
ICFE is an ideal qualification for those who wish to follow a career path in finance related occupations. Successful candidates will find that they are better equipped to function in practical situations, such as meetings and discussions of a financial nature where they have to express opinions clearly. They will also be able to better comprehend texts of various types, including financial statements, journal articles, letters, reports and proposals. This is not a test of financial skills although a certain level of background knowledge would be of greater support to any candidate.

Who recognises ICFE?
The certificates awarded to Cambridge ESOL candidates are recognised by thousands of educational organizations and employers throughout the world as reliable evidence of the level of English the learner has attained. Cambridge ESOL and ACCA are working towards obtaining recognition for ICFE from professional accountancy bodies, educational organizations, private sector employers and governmental institutions.

How long is the examination and what is the format?
The exam consists of four papers: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
The duration of the papers is as follows:
- Test of Reading: 1 hour 15 minutes
- Test of Writing: 1 hour 15 minutes
- Test of Listening: 40 minutes (approximately)
- Test of Speaking: 16 minutes (approximately)
